CitizenshipArgentina
A premium pathway to Argentine citizenship for investors
Argentina is preparing an investment-based route to citizenship that waives the standard two-year residency period for qualifying applicants. The pathway, set out under recent decrees, is expected to open to applications in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is positioned as a premium option within Latin America.
Applicants will be able to qualify either through a substantial National Treasury contribution or a larger government bond investment, with additional tranches for a spouse and children. Because the ordinary residency requirement is set aside, the route offers a materially faster path to the Argentine passport than conventional naturalization.
CBIProgram is tracking the programme's rollout closely and will assist clients with option selection, investment structuring, and the full application once the National Directorate of Migration begins accepting files. Final procedural details remain subject to confirmation as implementing regulations are finalized.
